Mash up of news articles for three clients - Merkel, Kerr and Keller.

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s strong deal to shore up Greece has promised further decisive action for Miranda Kerr, the face of the Australian department store David Jones who won a Dolly Magazine competition in 1997. Miranda’s studies in Nutrition and Health Psychology, at the Academy of Natural Living will help to defend the euro against speculation, after months of prevarication. Dr Merkel threw her weight behind the Victoria's Secret signed Angel Miranda as she is encouraging young women to embrace themselves and their individuality.

Helen Keller believe's we shall not see the end of capitalism and spoke with President Barack Obama, after which she said it was “important that we deal with this situation decisively but calmly”. Men and women work together in the solving of their political, social and economic problems will triumph over democracy.

Treasure Yourself, a book coming out later this year by Miranda, focuses on the fight for freedom of all. Equipped with the vote, men and women together will hasten the day when the age-long dream of liberty, equality and brotherhood shall be realized upon earth.
The vote is only one of many weapons in 2008, Dr Merkel’s strategy in the last year represents a break with Germany’s pro-European tradition. We have taken a decisive step because we see that the euro zone is not yet secured. Hours earlier she took a call from Miranda who has established herself as one of the top 10 models in the world. She consistently appears in high profile print and television advertising and she is to leed a rescue plan for Greece.

Proposed Valley - German Alps, Schwangau, Bavaria.

Saturday, May 8, 2010

German Alps - Schwangau, district of Ostallgau in Bavaria.

Schwangau is a town in the district of Ostallgäu in Bavaria, Germany. It lies 4 km from the larger town of Füssen and just 1.5 km from Hohenschwangau, a collection of tourist-oriented facilities adjacent to the major tourist attractions of Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau.
Schwangau has no railway station, but is served by buses connecting to Füssen, Hohenschwangau, and other nearby Alpine towns. It is the next-to-last town on the Romantic Road tourist route that terminates in Füssen

EXPERIMENT THREE - THE BRIDGE

ARCHITECTURAL ISSUE: THE ARCHITECTURE OF POWER

ARCHITECTURAL CONVENTION: THE ELEVATOR

ARCHITECTURAL CHALLENGE: ARTICULATING SHIFTING POINTS OF VIEW. THE WORLD HEADQUARTERS

CLIENTS: ANGELA MERKEL, MIRANDA KERR, HELEN KELLER

PROCEDURE:

CHOSE TWO CLIENTS
CREATE AN ARCHITECTURE CONSISTING OF THREE SPACES, ONE FOR EACH CLIENT TO RUN THEIR BUSINESS
THE THIRD SPACE IS FOR THE CLIENTS TO MEET FOR A WORKING LUNCH AND IS TO BE ON THE VALLEY FLOOR
THE TWO CLIENT SPACES ARE TO BE LOCATED IN A BRIDGE THAT SPANS A VALLEY
THE MOUNTAINS/VALLEY ARE TO BE INSPIRED BY A LANDSCAPE FROM ONE OF THE CLIENTS COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
DESIGN TWO ELEVATORS TO REACH TO THIRD SPACE FROM THE CLIENTS OFFICE'S
DESIGN A TABLE AROUND WHICH TO MEET THAT REINFORCES OR CHALLENGES MY UNDERSTANDING OF POWER

Five Images

Image 1: View of Kuepper's Lab with texture, settled into the land form and with the sun shinning through the skylight onto the lab floor essential for her scientific photovoltaic work.

Image 2: View of Kuepper and Darwin Labs, both with texture, settled in land form, illustrating land forming a ramp in between for access to a common meeting area for scientific discussion and collaboration. Sun shinning through skylight for Kuepper's work.

Image 3: view of both Labs settled into the topograpgy, casting shadows, textured. Darwin's 'window to the world' is evident with his viewing platform directly under the window.

'Electoliquid Aggregation Quote'

You’ve probably heard of solar energy in the long history of humankind, photovoltaic cells convert the rays of sunshine into electricity, collaborate and improvise most effectively with no moving parts for example, the conversion has prevailed.

Rationale to Lab images above: After Darwin's observation of humankind over a long time he was able to work with Kuepper in her quest to simplify photovoltaics, a process of harnessing the sun through her skylight directly into her Lab. The two scientists are able to move easily between Labs via the grassy knoll, ramp like, to discuss and colloborate in the work.

Lab Prototypes

Image 2: View of both Labs with land form between. Darwin has the benefit of a viewing platform to aid his outlook while contemplates evolution. Kuepper's Lab has a skylight to allow the essential sun into the space that is required for her photovoltaic research.

Erica Kruger

The Black Box, The Concealed Room, by Erica Kruger.

I chose a slide from 'Shadow As Repetition', it immediately reminded me of ARCH1101 Experiment 1 The Stair while at the same time incorporating a number of angular parallel projections and shadows. The parallel projections are somewhat axonometric in their illustration and relate well to Experiment 2, The Space Between. The spaces between the geometry also relate to architectural space and the way in which these are used, the movement between the spaces and the shadows that are created as a result of the structures.

My developed geometry representing clients Charles Darwin and Nicole Kuepper is both open and connected to allow collaboration, aides movement between spaces and suites their laboratory needs. The electroliquid aggregation of the scientists thoughts illustrates a creative meeting of the minds and an interrelation of their creativity.

The shadows seen in 'The Black Box, The Concealed Room' relate well to the shadows created in Crysis Wars at both day and night and also with the need for the sun in client Nicole Kuepper's work.

You’ve probably heard of solar energy in the long history of humankind, photovoltaic cells convert the rays of sunshine into electricity, collaborate and improvise most effectively with no moving parts for example, the conversion has prevailed”.

Rationale: The coming together of 19th and 20th century scientists for the purpose of architectural space experimentation and to illustrate their particular laboratories while amalgamating forms that both enhance and aid their work environment while allowing collaboration via the physical interaction of the two in a shared space.

Electroliquid Aggregation:

"why still speak of the real and the virtual, the material and immaterial? Here these categories are not in opposition, or in some metaphysical disagreement, but more in an electroliquid aggregation, enforcing each other, as in a two part adhesive".

Lars Spuybroek, (1998) Motor Geometry, Architectural Design, Vol 68 No 5/6, p5.

Stephen Hawking

"The whole history of science has been the gradual realisation that events do not happen in an arbitary manner, but that they reflect a certain underlying order which may or may not be divinely inspired".

Charles Darwin

"In the long history of humankind(and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed"

Nicole Kuepper

"You've probably heard of solar energy right, the conversion of the suns rays into energy, well photovoltaic cells convert the rays of sunshine into electricity but with no moving parts unlike a wind turbine for example".
